Cary 9000 Series keyboard
The Cary 9000 Series keyboard was conceived to replace the standard PC keyboard with one more suited to point-of-sale applications. All data from key-switches, the lock-switch, the intelligent bar code scanner port, and the optional internal magnetic stripe reader is presented to the host PC as keystrokes through the keyboard port.
The ergonomics are optimized for use in a broad range of point-of-sale environments. Careful attention was given to details such as the angle of use, tactile feel, dual-purpose pencil tray or credit card holder, protected key-switch positions, recessed connectors, and integrated peripherals.
In addition to having physically reconfigurable keycaps, the Cary 9000 Series supports a rich set of programmable features, including security options.
The Cary 9000 Series keyboard incorporates Cary's unique sealed-switch technology, which provides the highest attainable levels of mechanical durability, spill proofing, and static protection. The switch action is designed to emulate cash register-style feel.
The Cary 9000 Series has been designed to withstand the rough treatment and high volumes encountered in retail point-of-sale, petroleum, and fast food applications.
